    Apologies for the newbie question.

Making the switch to PP from FCP, and I need to finish a few large projects that are already transcoded into ProRes 422.

I like the idea of using ProRes render files in Premiere so that they can be leveraged during export. But no matter how I get to the render preview settings in the sequence settings (either in a new project, new sequence, old sequence settings, etc.) the settings are grayed out and I’m stuck with I-Frame Only MPEG renders.

    Why is mine seemingly unchangeable?

If anyone is curious about this workflow, check out this awesome tutorial for more information: https://blogs.adobe.com/VideoRoad/2011/08/a-prores-workflow-end-to-end.html

I’m on a 2011 MacBook Pro with CS5.5 if that makes any difference.

Thanks all! Love this place 🙂

Huh, seems to work for me…..what are your computer specs? One quick note, I hardly use the sequence settings while starting a project. I open PrP, navigate the location of my project, hit ok, then hit cancel on the sequence preset panel. PrP then opens up and I load some media in the project pane, once imported, I’ll drag a clip I know I want my sequence to be, to the new sequence icon (looks like a folder). Kinda like FCP’s way of making a sequence via a clip’s settings.

    Thanks,

    Hi Cassidy,

Is FCP installed on the machine?

    Thanks for the responses.

Vince: Yes, I have both FCP7 and FCP X installed on the machine. And I can’t uninstall FCP 7 at this time (… still in the mix…)

How could FCP be causing this problem?
