  • Can’t change clip settings

    Hello,

I’ve been requested to change the settings to a sequence and consequently to some clips aswell. I imported footage from some P2 cards with Final Cut Pro (6.0.3) reading them as 1080i50, but my client wants these changed to 1080p25 so all I’m trying to do is change the field dominance to “None”. Changing the sequence is no problem but when I attempt to change a clip’s settings (top left browser -> right click -> clip settings) the following error message comes up:

“No items have files that are applicable to this operation”

I have never had this problem before, although saying that this is the first time I have used P2 cards. Does anyone know why it is saying this and whether it can be resolved?

You must change the field order of the sequence to NONE and drop a de-interlacer filter to the i50 clips in the sequence.

..and always a big mess on top of the table.

Right. If you use FC’s de-interlacer it doesn’t matter if you hoose Upper or Lower.

    sorry, just to clarify:

i want to change the sequence settings from “1080i50” to “1080p25” and change the field dominance to “None”.

    and deinterlace all the clips.

    is this correct?

[Jonny Flint] “i want to change the sequence settings from “1080i50” to “1080p25” and change the field dominance to “None”. “
If your sequence is 1080i50 and you set Field Dominance NONE, you get a 1080p25 sequence.
Then de-interlace the clips and thats all.
