  • Can’t center text in text safe box

I looked up a shortcut to center the text in the text safe zone (crtl+shift+C) and I get a pre-compose window popping up. Any ideas or tips to get my text centered?

    Thanks!

I don’t have AE open, but if i recall correctly, in addition to having center justify selected in the paragraph settings, where it centers the text is also dependent on where you click the text tool in the comp window. So, if you want very precise centering, perhaps turn on the safe area overlays and make sure you click the text tool on the crosshairs in the middle of the safe area … I think the text tool changes color or shape when it is precisely over the crosshairs and/or you could also use the pixel counts in the Info panel to tell you when you have the text tool precisely in the center of your comp.

Thanks Guys! That’s the only thing the Avid title tool has over AE, go figure.
