Can’t capture video longer than an hour
Hi, I am pretty new to this program. I am trying to get all of my old video 8 cassette tapes to my hard drive. I am using a Sony camcorder connected fire wire to my Mac. I converted a couple of tapes and everything seemed to go great. The video was clear the audio was clear but the video cut off after about an hour even though all of these tapes run about 2 hours. While it’s recording there are no problems. The tape plays till the end and it appears like it is still recording, but when it finishes the video is always cut off in the same place leaving more than half of the original video missing. This goes the same for the video clip, the video in the timeline, and the final exported video. I tested many tapes and had the same result. I thought I would run into problems doing this but I didn’t think this would be it. I can’t figure it out, I feel like I looked through all of the settings and can’t find anything with a capture limit.
If anyone has any idea how to fix this issue it would be greatly appreciated. I can’t seem to find anything regarding this problem online.

The computer continued to capture nothing for 60min. after the video stopped?

After 60min. the computer stopped capturing?

Hey thanks for responding. And sorry for the delay in my response I’ve been away.
To clarify. The tapes are about 2 hours long each and I’m only getting about 1 hour of captured video on the computer. I don’t believe I have any capture limit set. But where should I check for this?
Also what makes this even stranger is that while I’m in the capture screen in Adobe Pre Pro. It appears as it is recording the full 2 hour tape. I see the full 2 hour video play out in the preview screen and the amount of space used on the top appears to run higher and higher the entire 2 hours of the tape being played. You would think that it was recording it but when I check the resulting video it is always about 1 hour and 2 minutes of video. This occurs on the time line, on the video clip, and on the final published video.

Hey thanks for the response and I apologize for taking so long to respond.
I’m not sure if it was. Would I have anyway of finding this out from the tape. Also just wondering why you would ask. What difference would this make?
