    MAC OSX 10.5.2
    dual processor
    FCP 5.1.4

trying to digitise in HDV 25fps. these are my issues:

    1. stops shortly after starting batch capture with error ‘not enough input data. please check connections and settings’

if i press continue after this warning, sometimes it will digitise. other times it digitises 2 frames only and says ‘completed successfully’.

i have checked and rechecked settings, turned computer off, turned deck off reset menus and preferences in computer and deck. still having no joy. took deck off, set ZIP camera to digitise instead.. having same issues. changed fire wire cable. still stuck in this bermuda triangle of frustration! grrrr…

    2. whenever i plug in the deck or camera, it ejects my external FireWire 250Gb hard drive, with a warning saying i did not remove it correctly. as a consequence, i have to remove my external drive before every time i digitise.

any ideas why i am being plagued with these issues? wasting a lot of time.

    thanks for help.

Alex- Your deck needs to be on a separate firewire bus. Install a firewire card in an open PCI slot to give your system another firewire bus. Their cheap… around $20.
