  Can’t Assign Keyboard Shortcuts to Certain Keys

  Strange problem which probably has a simple solution:

  I’m cutting in Premiere Pro CC 9.2 on an 2016 Asus 2-in-1 laptop (Windows 10 Home 64 bit; 12GB RAM; Intel 6th Gen i7-6500U processor; nVidia 940m). I’m trying to reassign my MARK IN and MARK OUT keyboard shortcuts from the defaults (I and O) to my preferred E and R. However, when I change the shortcuts in the keyboard shortcuts interface, the keys don’t function. Nor do the original keys. So PP knows that the shortcuts have been changed, but it won’t let E and R function as I’ve set them. Other keys (Q and W, for example) work fine, and of course the default I and O also work fine.

  I have another desktop rig with PP and don’t experience this issue. Is this a “trash your user preferences” kind of fix? Or is there something else going which I’m not getting?

  Any insight will be appreciated!
