Activity Forums VEGAS Pro can’t apply presets to project media

  • can’t apply presets to project media

I am working on a multicam project with three cameras (two HMC 150 and a GH1).

I did color correction on the events on the timeline, saved it as a presets (cam1, cam2, cam3) and attempted to apply those presets to media in the project explorer. At first S.Vegas 10a crashed few times. Now nothing happens, as in Stephen’s case: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/928437#928491

I can apply a filter package that’s supplied with the software but only if its done first. If I first try to apply my own preset than nothing happens and I cannot add any other filter packages either. Re-booting doesn’t help. What even stranger is that after one of the reboots I was able to apply one of my own presets to one of the media (one of HMC150 files) but then it stopped working again.

Is there any other way to preserve video fx when creating multicam track?
    tx,

Are you really using Vegas Pro 10.0a? That’s quite buggy. Try the latest 10.0d and see if it fixes the problem.

I am just afraid to do that in the middle of my project with a deadline looming dangerously close 🙂 Is 10d more stable?

[Andrew Jezierski] “Is 10d more stable?”

Actually, 10.0c is more stable because 10.0d introduced other problems with presets. 🙁 I appreciate you not wanting to change anything in the middle of a project (I do the same thing) but you can always uninstall 10.0d or 10.0c and reinstall 10.0a if something doesn’t work. The fact that Sony has released D and you are on A says that you are using a version with lots of bugs (3 versions behind) so anything you encounter could already be fixed.

Having said that, I use Acronis TrueImage to make a daily incremental backup of my C: drive to my D: drive. I can go back to any day in the last 30 days and restore my computer. (I only keep 30 days of daily backups and 3 months of full backups) You might want to consider doing the same.

At a minimum, take a System Restore point before making any changes so that you restore your computer if needed but I have never had any problems with uninstalling and reinstalling previous version of Vegas.

Is there a way to upgrade to 10c instead of 10d?

Andrew, go to https://download.sonymediasoftware.com/current/ where you’ll find most versions.

Good to know that 10.0e solved it. Thanks for closing the loop.
