  • Can’t access any menu after render/sleep…

    Hey,

This has happened twice now, but after I’ve done a render and the CPU goes to sleep, after awaking, I’m unable to access any menu across the top…you know:File, Edit, etc. I can use and navigate the AE palettes just fine, move the timeline, all seems to work, just can’t save anything via menu or keyboard shortcut. All the menus are grayed out/unavailable. The only way I can save is if I Quit and then the Save prompt appears. All seems fine after restarting AE.

    Mac OS X 10.4.1, AE 6.5.1, 2.5G ram, QT 7.1.

    thanks for any help

If I recall correctly, the sleep function is considered “incompatible” with AE…I’m sure someone else will chime in if I’m wrong. Personally, I’m in the habit of leaving my AE computers in “Always On” mode, turning off screen savers and turning off my monitor manually during overnight renders. I just use the Sleep button on my keyboard when I need it.
