Had anyone using a Canopus ADVC-100 experienced
missing sound when clicking the ‘Capture’ option
    while in the preview window?
The sound comes shortly then goes out.
It then comes back while recording though.
    Any help welcomed.

I ad an ADVC-50 – one model below – had all kinds of problems which turned out to be a bad firewire cable in the end. After replacing it worked like a charm!
Double check all your connections and cables!

How are you capturing? The ADVC has an “analog” or “digital” switch”.

This more often than not plays a role!

    Cheers

I’m capturing the analog signal from my Satelite receiver’s SVHS output.
The audio is the analog right/left outputs.
By the way I don’t think it’s my firewire cable that causes
my sound or video to stop when opening the capture window since
when I record everything goes well with no dropouts at all.
My signal break are there only when the capture window
comes up then they stays the way they are until I start recording.
This is annoying since I’d be glad to here and see the
    satelite channel before starting recording.
