Canon XL2 compatibility with Express Pro 4.5 or 5
I am considering buying an XL2, but am concerned that it may not work well with Avid Express Pro 4.5 or 5x. I asked this on the Avid Community forum and got no replies, which makes me even more suspicious. So the question bluntly is: will the XL2 work fully with AEP? TIA

Works fine with 5.0 and later. I own the camera and use it all the time. There is a template for it in deck conigurations.

Does version 5 make any difference with the accuracy of digital cut on the original DSR 1500?

I don’t know… I don’t have that deck but I can ask around. FireWire itself is was never engineered to frame accurate so that may always be an issue.
