I recently purchased an XL1 used and in very good condition, it seems everything is in order except for the DV port. The DV port will not connect with the computer nor does it show that it is connected in the camera. I have tried hooking it to a couple different computers all with compliant IEEE1394 ports or DV ports and still get nothing. I have tried taking all power away from the camera, including the backup battery and then giving it power again thus a possible reset, and that doesn’t do anything either. Does anybody know of something else I might try to troubleshoot with? Other than that I’m thinking the DV port is dead, I have contacted Canon about fixing it, but they won’t give me an estimate on cost, they need me to send it in for a look over before they give me an estimate. I’m wondering if anyone else has had this problem and sent it in to be fixed and how much it might have cost.

    Thanks
    Nate
