  • Canon XL1 audio recording question…

    Hey all,

I have never used a Canon XL1 before, but have rented one for use at an event this coming Friday. I have some questions about the audio recording capabilities and hope to find some help here.

I want to record the signal from the on-board mic, as well as record a signal from a wireless mic receiver.
When using the 4 channel recording feature on the Canon XL1 (the “12 bit ST-1,2” audio input setting), does this completely isolate the two inputs so that one track is the on-board mic, and the other is the wireless?
Can the wireless receiver be connected (from it’s 1/8” stereo output) to the camera’s 1/8” and work the way I want it to?

Does this camera have a 1/8” audio input on it?

I ask these questions because all I can find in the user guide is the mention of using RCA inputs on the camera for this type of recording, but I thought there was also an 1/8” input… so I need to know that the 1/8” input can be used instead of the RCA in this instance.

    Thanks so much!
