May 8, 2020 at 1:12 pmHi, This may be a long shot and worthless question but I will give it a try.
I have started to use my Canon XHG1 again as it still gives me great pictures and sounds. It was last used last year and I did manage to load it on to FCP X but it took it time to render and each clip had to be rendered individually. As is the next lot of clips I need to edit.Has anyone got any suggestions of any ways around it. I know the camera is old but would be a shame not to be able to use it any more.
I’m not a professional just and old man still playing with video and editing.
Thanks for reading even if you could not help.

May 14, 2020 at 10:16 pmI am not a pro either. Just an enthusiastic fiddler. I have a Canon XLH1 and Final Cut Pro X installed on a Dedicated 2014 21” iMac. All footage from the XL is recorded to an Atomos Samurai hard drive. It works a treat. I just plug the Hard drive into the iMac and it handles the files quickly and without fuss.
Like yours, my camera is old (I have a pair of XA10’s but the lens on the old XL is so good, the manual controls so easy to use (no menues) that I prefer it to the newer cameras. Using the Atomos has given it a new lease of life. Wish I could do the same ????
