    Hi.Somebody can help me.

I’m trying to capture HD footage from Canon XH A1 to final cut 5.0.4. but I can’t find the right configuration.

I don’t know what is the right selection for:
    SEQUENCE PRESET,
    CAPTURE PRESET and
    DEVICE CONTROL PRESET?

    I have a G5 with MAC OS 10.5.8 with 3.5 G Memory

    Thanks Raul

Use the Easy Setups…choose HDV 1080i60 one and you should be good to go.

I recall when I tried to capture from an XLH1 with old FCP software, I had to use DV firewire basic for control. I then used SDI input for the video, so I was only using the camera set to downconvert to DV for machine control.

Canon cameras were a problem with that version of FCP. If you have shot in standard 60i then you can capture from a Sony Z1 which is the only reliable HDV camera that worked in Vers5.0

The biggest help I can give is make sure you don’t have any other FireWire devices hooked up when the Canon is connected. Canons don’t like to share FireWire with anything. Capturing to esata or internal drive, or USB will work

    Thank’s David… But there’s no another device connected…

Do you know if FINAL CUT EXPRESS 4 works fine, with my system?
