    Hello!

I just recently purchased a Canon XF100, and now would like to use it for a high-quality webinar with a MacBook Pro.

Is this possible using an HDMI cable + a mac adapter? I have looked through the Video Output section of its manual, which was helpful in establishing the internal settings of the camera and the necessary cables, but not sure about next steps, given that my XF100 isn’t magically showing up as a device that will override the built-in webcam.

Any advice is welcome! Be patient, I’m a novice in this.

    best,
    Marley

Did you ever figure out how to do this?

I have a XF105 which has an HD-SDI port which I use to Livestream either with a teradek cube or Blackmagic UltraStudio 3d. It works great for me, but the xf100 doesn’t have an HD-SDI unfortunately.

There are a few options though.

    A. Teradek makes a HDMI cube encoder which is portable, indipendan of a pc, and works well with Livestream.
    B. blackmagic hdmi intensity is USB 3.0 and has an HDMI input and works with Livestream
    C. budget solution: Blackmagic h.264 usb encoder. You can connect it via the component cable that came with your camera. It also works well with Livestream.

I have been using my xf105 to live broadcast police raids of the Occupy Wall St. camps. Work amazingly well.

    Good Luck!

Thanks a lot. We were looking at the Cube as an option also.
