    Hi There,

Looking for help with audio settings.

    – Should I choose AAC 16bit 2CH or LPCM 16bit 4CH?

    – Also, would appreciate audio settings on handle.

My goal is to record using an external mic in channel 1 and the internal camera mic record in channel 2.

    Thanks you,

    Renee

With regards to the AAC or the LPCM, I think that the 2 channel is more flexible is going to sound better than MP3, and it’s the standard that you usually hear coming out of most devices.

The 4 channel is going to be a higher quality, you hear it used on DVDs, sounds better on surround sound, etc.

I assume that you’d go for higher quality in the long run, but what kind of project are you shooting for?

I have this Camera and I always use 4 ch LPCM it allows you to have the internal mic as a back up for your wireless or shotgun(s) – I actually love this camera!

There are trade offs with any camera, but for the money, you can’t beat all it can do – it would be a perfect camera if it shot 4k60 and had the nicer LCD screen, but for $2K – it’s a nice camera for sure.
