  Canon XA10 record input level different in Final Cut x

  Ever since I got the XA10 camera the input record level while using any XLR mic is way different then what it is in Final Cut X. For example if I record no more than -10db using the XA10 the final output in Final Cut X will be -20 or lower. I don’t want to record more than at least -5db. What do I do? If I turn up the volume in Final Cut X there a loud HUM.
