Bought a hidef 1920×1080 Canon HFS 100 camcorder. I have set the recording mode to Cinema Mode. Cinema Mode is 24fps. When I use Sony Vegas 9, the properties for the .mts file suggests that the video was recorded in 29.97fps. I have yet to see an .mts file with 24fps.
Since the camcorder records its video onto a 16gb SDHC card, I can just remove the card from the camera, and plug that card into a universal SDHC/usb card reader. All files are copied using the vista copy utility. It is those copied files that I File->Import->media into sony vegas.

    So I am a bit confused. Am I importing a 24fps file? a 29.97fps file.

(Canon suggests that the file is 24fps, and that the software ( sony vegas ) is converting it. )

Hey there – Did you ever receive an answer to this question? I have this very same question. I have the same Canon Vixia HF S100 camera, recently shot some footage using the same Cinema mode and am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.

    Thanks!
