Anyone else having trouble with Sony M15U logging Canon footage? I cannot get the M15U to capture my XH-A1 and HV20 footage into Premiere Pro CS3 or Avid Liquid.
The NLE’s can see the deck and control it but can’t log the video accurately.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !!

Are you working with 60i footage or with 24F footage or with 30F footage?

Terry: can u playback and record 1080i/30F from your Sony M15U ?

I recently shot a lot of footage using the XL-H1 at 1080i/30F to mini DV tapes and now I need to capture to FCP. I’m currently looking at renting a VTR that can playback and record that format. I also need to clone the master tapes. I have a deadline to meet so I’m looking at the best and afforable solution to import.

    Let me know, thanks!

I can use the M15U fine with my Canon HV20 but my XLA1 tapes do not seem to play well. I get a good recording stream out of the M15U but then it randomly hangs and skips frames so I have just gone back to logging from the XHA1. I get good recording out of PremPro CS3 into the M15U.

I have not found a good resolution to my problem yet. Good luck with your project.

Fumbling my way happily thru the world of HD…
