I’m working in Final Cut Pro 6.06 on OS 10.4.11 and considering a Canon for HD, (possibly the XH-A1s) based on past experience with the brand, SD video and still photo. But I’m a newbie novice to HD and all its flavor and codecs. Most of my work is intended for online use, with a complementary DVD-R churned out more as a keepsake.

What I’m wondering is whether this combination is recommended or could give problems. I’ve heard Canons can be temperamental about digitizing to Final Cut.

I’d also be open to other recommendations of Canons that also record directly to memory cards. I’m presuming the memory chip listed on the specs for the XH-A1s is for camera settings and still images.

I’m working with a Dual G5 and 8 gigs of ram, external and separate internal drives.
    Thanks very much –
