Canon SF-CF Pro DTE Recorder
Hello esteemed community. For several years I have been saving my pennies to upgrade at least one of my Canon XHA1 cameras with the acquisition of an external DTE recorder. I have had my eyes set for months on the Canon SF-CF Pro DTE Recorder. There is much in the forums on these particular model, some not so favorable, but others that are. The main issue is the firmware, which many have commented that it’s expensive. I am committed to the “pro” model so that I can mark/organize the video while shooting. I film youth football games and need a unit that will help me organize the footage while shooting to make it easier for me to produce game highlights quickly. But, I’m learning now that the Canon SF-CF Pro has been discontinued. Can anyone shed some light on this as I don’t want to go out and pay good money for this model if it’s going to give me problems and/or if there are other options.
