  • Canon Mark 2 5D video image horizontal banding issue

    Hello,

I recently bought a used Canon Mark 2 5D with low usage. I have used this model of camera many many times, albeit a new one, to create Television commercials and stills for catalogs all with great success. But as I test this used camera out in multiple settings and environments I am getting a strange and terrible image with quick moving and extreme horizontal banding in the video. The stills seem to be unaffected. I need to see if this is something I can correct or if I do need to just send the camera back and get a refund upon which I will need to state my case for what is wrong. I have brought it to a camera shop to check the sensor but nothing is immediately wrong with it—they only tested with stills. I realize you can sometimes get some noise in the shadows with these cameras on a high iso setting but this banding/noise is very extreme in my opinion and would love to see if anyone has encountered this before. It does not appear to be the black dot issue I have read about.

    Thanks for your help!

Here is a screen shot of the video banding.
