OK, Canon M300 probably does not record proper timecode, but I need at least a TOD (time of day) stamp, which I don’t seem to get from it either.

    Camera’s clock is set properly.

My workflow: get MTS files from camera and convert them to Cineform AVI FilmScan. I then use AVIs for further editing in Premiere CS5.

Any suggestions on how to see/extract the TOD from the clips?

Ok, and to answer my own question…

Adobe Bridge – Metadata section shows “DateShot” with correct date and time of the clip.

Just peruse that info – copy it into the clip’s name, or Timecode section etc., or just use it to position the clip on Premiere’s Timeline.

    Voila, case solved.
