Canon lens comparison: new model VS. old model
I will be picking up some new canon glass and was interested to know if the difference in quality is worth the extra cost.
I am going to purchase both the 16-35 2.8 and the 70-200 2.8
I notice a leap in price between the new and old 16-35
And an even bigger leap in price between the 70-200 ISi and ISiiAny ideas about this? Is it worth spending the extra money for shooting video?

with regards to the 70-200. It is the IS that you are paying the extra for. The IS-II has too modes that now works on a tripod.

Hey thanks for your reply. I do undertand the difference between the IS lens and non IS lens, but what I don’t understand is the difference between the IS1 and the IS2 lenses. Obviously the IS2 is newer but is there much picture quality or bokeh difference?

there is a difference to the IS, on the older version is should never be used if the camera is on a tripod but with the new IS it will smooth out tripod moves. It is also better handheld.
