ok so i just purchased a Canon HF 200 for my video needs. i also own i new macbook pro and an imac… i have final cut pro loaded on my macbook pro and was trying to log and transfer my video files from my camera… i have been able to transfer them before the camera will mount up in final cut but only sometimes other times it just does nothing it also does the same thing in imovie where it takes forever to detect the camera just wondering if there is anything that i am doing wrong… if you have any help that would be greatly appreciated

[Joshua Whit] “wondering if there is anything that i am doing wrong…”

With basic punctuation and correct use of capitalising, I might be able to follow what you are saying. So this is just my guess.

When cameras fail to show up, I would try booting the computer with the camera on and powered. Also be aware of conflicts with firewire buses. If you have drives on firewire 400 at the same time as the camera, it might not show up or take forever.

This is a very common thing and so this issue has been discussed many time, so a search might also answer your question.
