    Hello,

I was recently asked to suggest a camcorder that would capture high definition video, would be easy to get the video off of the camera (NO AVCHD) and would create video files that would be easy to import/insert in Powerpoint.

I did some research and it looked like the Canon VIXIA HF G30 was a good solution. We were able to get our hands on one and it satisfies the first two requirements (great footage and easy to get files off of the camera). Unfortunately, the MP4 files that the camcorder creates do not play well in Powerpoint. While the footage can be sent through Compressor or MPEG Streamclip and converted to a MP4 that will work, it will not work straight from the camera.

I thought I would share this to see if people might have suggestions or ideas why this might be or if people might have suggestions for an alternative solution. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Handbrake is awesome….use it all the time to convert to MP4’s. Much easier than compressor in my opinion…
