I need to shoot in auto exposure mode since this camera is remote from me (multi-cam shoot) and I am filming a stage performance with many lighting changes and brightness.
In order not to blow-out the highlights I need to correct the auto exposure by 1-2 stops.
Is there a way to do this on the Canon G25? All I seem to be able to do is adjust the auto exposure and fix it at that setting regardless of any lighting changes (i.e. no auto exposure any more)
    Many thanks
    Peter

Disclaimer–this is from the similar-but-not-identical XA20. There’s enough concurrency between the XA-series and G-series that I think it should be the same.

In the Function menu, there is an item labeled “Exposure,” which has an option to set it manually. This is actually the exposure compensation setting. Once you drop the setting by a stop, the Program modes like Av and Tv (use Tv for your application, so the shutter speed doesn’t start dropping) will underexpose to your setting.
