Hey every one, i have shot a lovely little film with a canon 7 d and a canon 5d mark ii, and was very happy with my footage til i tried to convert my footage with the canon plugin for final cut pro. The footage has lost some of the end of the clips the rest keep failing to convert to apple pro res. Now does have any idea why this is happening to me? I dont really know how to use compressor so FCP is really the best thing for me to us. thank you

Sounds a bit like corrupt files. Search around on here about using the 7D files with MPEG Streamclip or even compressor, as it’s pretty easy to use. I would try your problem clips in MPEG Streamclip first and see if it’s the file.

We have used Compressor to go from H.264/Canon to ProRes422 with great success. Any advantage using MPEG Streamclip?

Crashes less and faster on some older macs that don’t have 8 or more cores.

If you were using Log & Transfer to import into FCP and you tried to do other things with FCP whilst L&T loaded in the background, this can sometimes lead to incomplete capture.

Just let the L&T process happen and leave the computer alone. Just recapture the incomplete files again.
