Our company is looking to upgrade our current Canon XL2 camera and I’ve began weighing the pros and cons of the new 5D Mark III. The bulk of our filming is customer testimonials for marketing purposes.

I had been looking at the Canon XF300 and the Sony NEX-FS100U, but then saw that Canon released the Mark III and I’m now reconsidering. I’ve seen some mixed reviews on the Mark II for shooting over half-hour segments due to overheating and I guess my question is: Is the Mark III a good option for shooting customer interviews that can last around 30-45 minutes? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Wrong tool for the job. You’re better off with the FS100 for that type of application.
