Hello, hoping this could be explained for me.
I have a C100 on loan from canon for a week. I shot a bunch of test footage on it yesterday. I put the SD card in my reader and dragged over the .mov files and then imported them in FCPX no problem. Today i went on a shoot for a music video, went to copy the files and it inside the disk is a folder named PRIVATE and one file Named AVCHD. I successfully imported everything that i needed, no problems there. Im just asking why does the camera decide to save one way and then another. Im coming from the DSLR world. I Use 6D’s and MKIII’s.
    Thanks

You must be using the newer C100. The older model only produces AVCHD files. There is likely a setting in the camera to choose the two, check the manual that you can find online.
