Canon C100 1/4″ mounting hole accessory options? Stumped!!!
There is a 1/4″ mounting hole on the rear of the C100 handle unit. After receiving my atoms Ninja2 recorder I thought it a no brainer to mount the recorder in the rear hole since the it would balance better there. I thought it would be a piece of cake to add a cold shoe adapter or get an extension arm that would screw into it.
ARghh! All the extension arms have hot shoe mounts it seems. And I’m having a terrible time finding a cold shoe mount that threads with a male 1/4″ – 20 threaded stud.
What I need is a 1/4″ male thread at the bottom with a tightening knob going up to a ball adjuster for tilt then up to another male thread with tightener to go into the ninja 2 thread 1/4″ -20 hole.
Been over BH and Markertech and web searches with zero luck in a single piece unit.
I wish Canon had made it another hot shoe.
Anyone else trying to do this?
I’m trying to keep the wight down and the balance point centered for hand help shooting with my dougman.
Thanks if you have an idea! What is the 1/4″ hole for?

We have a few of these that we use for various things….
… and seems that you could mix-n-match the pieces so that you had a quarter-inch male stud on one end and a cold shoe on the other. With a ball joint in between.
