  Canon 7D workflow and HDMI output

  Hi all,
  I was wondering about getting a Canon 7D for video purpose and how to deal with the files (MOV h.264) it creates.

  Would it be a good idea to acquire the footage playing it back via the hdmi output using an hdmi->SDI adapter like the AJA Ha5 or the Blackmagic miniconverter? I already have a macpro with an AJA Kona 3 board and FCS3.

  I know that the hdmi output show onscreen information (and downscales to SD, is that true?) while recording, is it the same on playback mode?
