I purchased a Canon 7D few days ago and i will get my hands on it tomorrow. Its being shipped to from the states. I have heard a lot of people say that i will have problems editing my videos on my system since im using a laptop and my laptop isnt the greatest.

    This is my system info:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo P8700 w/VT – 2.53GHz
4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz
    NVIDIA® GeForce™ 9600M GS 512MB
    160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive

Do you guys think ill have a hard time editing these files on my laptop? i dont want to degrade the quality in anyways since i want to shoot short movies, clips.

I would look at an intermediate codec that is easier on the system, as AVCHD is not really meant for editing. Check out Cineform NeoScene. There will be no quality loss, but it will edit much faster. You can download a free trial to test it.
