What would be the best way to do this transcode? I know to use Compressor to batch all of my footage into ProRes HQ for FCP editing but I am just curious as to what method (i.e. cinema tools) people recommend for this process.

    thanks in advance

Is Cineform NeoScene an option for you? They now support FCP with Cineform.mov and ProRes.mov.

Cinema Tools is the easiest process. Copy your clip. Open the copied 59.94 clip, conform to 23.98. Open in FCP. Sit back and watch your slow motion video.
