I’m having an issue on my 70D where when I shoot video using autofocus, the resulting image is soft. I’m using touch focus. My understanding is that the micro adjustment feature doesn’t apply to live view focusing. The interesting thing is when I push the AF back button focus, it will focus razor sharp. As soon as I let go of that button, it goes soft again. it’s not terribly convenient to hold down the AF button all the time.

I have tested this on multiple Canon L series lenses with the same results.

    Any ideas?

Are you using continuous focusing? If so, it’s refocusing slightly after you remove your finger. I like continuous focusing to keep track of points I’ve designated when that object is in motion (or I am). But if the position is fixed, I touch the pause button turn it off.

I’m rather frequently going through sequences of touch-focus, pause, un-pause, touch-focus depending on the movement of the subject(s) and how I’ve blocked out the focusing plan.
