I shot a bunch of footage on a Canon 60D that managed to get erased. Luckily nothing else was shot on the SD card and I was able to get the footage back using Photorec. Even though the files all end in .mov extensions they are not recognized by any player (QuickTime, VLC, MPEG Streamclip etc.).

I used a hex editor and was able to put some of the footage back together (when I had a large .mov file and a small ftyp.mov file) but most of the tracks seem to be fragmented or have the wrong headers for some reason.

I was able to preview all the footage using Treasured but I’ll go broke if I have to pay to get them all back together. I also noticed by using the Treasured player that the movies that can’t be put back together usually end with an ftyp.mov extension.

I’m not a hex coder by any means but has anyone had the same problem and how did you solve it?
