Hey, I’m trying to improve my workflow for organizing footage. When importing footage I see both the .mov files and .thm files (which contain metadata) is there anyway to merge these files so that the metadata will show up in .mov file?

Also I’m wondering if anyone using Adobe Bridge to organize footage? Any personal way of organizing footage.

It seems that the .thm file is the reference frame used by cameras and applications to give a thumbmail view of the video clip and is the first frame of the video clip:

QTChange by VideoToolShed can take the creation date from the file and insert it into the .mov file to give it a real and permanent timecode rather than the default 00:00:00:00.

Do you know of anyway to merge the files so that the metadata will be in the .mov file. Either with the camera settings or on the computer.

I mentioned QTChange from VideoToolshed – it will take the creation date from the file and turn it into Time of Day timecode.
