Canon 550d to FCP won’t recognize SDHC Card
So I’m new to DSLR workflow and am trying to figure this out on my own. I did read about the EOS MOVIE Plugin-E1 which doesn’t support the Canon 550D, but then I found a workaround that I feel I setup propertly.
My problem though is much more basic. When I’m in FCP and I go to log and transfer, the thumbnails of the media do not show up. I have tried both from camera through USB as well as putting the SDHC card into a card reader.
If I try to add folder or drag the files into log and transfer I get the error message…contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media.
Also another problem is that if I drag the media directly into the browser, then into the timeline and look at my sequence settings it says HDTV 1080i. Every review that I’ve read about this camera is that it’s 1080P. What am I not understanding here?

What work around are you using? If it is configured wrong you will see the error you are getting. Search https://www.philipbloom.com for the correct way.
