Apologies in advance if this has been covered (looked but cannot find). I cannot view video previews when I click on a file using the “explore” tab. It worked awhile ago but somewhere along the line a setting must have changed and I can’t preview clips.

To clarify, I start a project, I go to explore and find a clip. If i click on a clip, my video preview remains black, rather than showing me what the clip is. So I have to drag each clip onto the timeline to see what it is.

Sorry for the general newbieness of this post…

Thank you for your input in advance,

    Ron

Actually, it’s not. I assume you are using Vegas Pro 9.0 or at least Vegas Pro 8.0c. In 8.0c Sony introduced a new capability to preview in the trimmer. If your trimmer is not showing, the main preview just happily remains black. Pull up the trimmer and you’ll see the video preview there. There is a switch on the top of the trimmer (Show Video Monitor) to turn this behavior on and off.
