July 23, 2010 at 3:20 pmHi steve,
i had a similar problem – the crew had renamed the mov files before sending me the drives… So I tried what you said:
“If for some reason you have renamed the original .MOV files just rename the .THM files to the same name of the .MOV files from the T2i.”
but for some reason i got the same error
“100EOS5D” contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media.
Anyone got any ideas? I’d like to use log and transfer if possible to keep timecode & add metadata

July 23, 2010 at 3:28 pmHmmm – i restarted FCP and it seemed to work this time (having renamed the THM files to match)
thanks all.

August 9, 2010 at 7:17 pmI ran into the same problem when copying the files to my hard drive by using “Image Capture” for Mac…
FCP wouldn’t import giving the error message that the folder structure wasn’t correct. The ‘fastest’ way to fix this was simply to convert the files to whatever format you’ll need them to be in FCP using compressor, and then drag them into your project.
I personally used ProRes 422 and it worked like a charm… I heard ProRes 422 (LT) is good enough, but haven’t tried it yet.
