  • cannot share from FCPX 10.4 to Youtube anymore

    Hi Guys,

In the past I could Share to YouTube, about a year ago,
but for some reason that is not working anymore,

When I go to the Share Menu in FCPX,
    I select YouTube,
configure the settings in the Dialogue box
    Click Next,
    YouTube Dialogue appears,
    Click Sign In,
Opens up accounts page in Google,
    select my account,
next page says “Final Cut Pro wants to access your Google Account”
    Click Allow,
“Safari Can’t connect to the Server”
Safari can’t open the page “127.0.0.1:54768/?
followed by 4 rows of gobbledygook
    and ending with:
because Safari can’t connect to the server “127.0.0.1”

The only search result i could find was about “127.0.0.1” being my computer ? and something about localhost.

    any ideas guys

Try to repair permissions on your drive.

    Thanks for the suggestion,

    Already tried repair permissions,
and I tried again just now without success.

Try creating a blank new YouTube account for testing purposes. Be sure you’ve nuked all the cookies in your browser of choice as well. then try a test load, the way you used to.

    Mark Thanks,
Tried a new account – same error,
Cleared all Cookies and caches from Safari – same error,

I kinda read somewhere that the address “127.0.0.1” could be the problem,
I can’t figure out if the problem is caused by:

    Safari
    FCPX
    YouTube
    Google
    My Network Settings
    My Router

Can you use compressor to make it something web ready and then just upload to Youtube. I always find this more reliable than trying to share directly to Youtube or Vimeo.

    One more thing to try:
    – Go into FCPX Preferences / Destinations tab.
    – Delete the YouTube destination in the left-hand list.
    – At the bottom of that list, click ‘Add Destination’, then double-click the YouTube icon in the right-hand pane.
    – Login from there, and try again.

    Thanks for the tip Doug,

    Tried your suggestion without success,
    sigh, so annoying.

One more question: What version of FCPX and MacOS are you running?

    I’m still using Sierra,
because there were many issues with High Sierra when it was first released,
and I did not want to open a can of worms,
and later versions of FCPX after v10.4, only work with High Sierra.

    FCPX v10.4
    MacOS Sierra v10.12.5

    Thanks for your input Doug.

    [Billy Young] “FCPX v10.4
    MacOS Sierra v10.12.5”

Hm… running out of ideas. There was something about FCPX 10.2.2 that fixed a protocol change.

Found this completely unhelpful KB article:

With Final Cut closed, can you log into YouTube through Safari successfully?
