Cannot retrieve Audio from SD card used in H4n
I recorded two acts of a show with my H4n, stopping the recording between acts to save on battery.
Both audio clips show up in the STEREO/FOLDER01 as .wav files.
The second act plays fine, but the first act is not recognized.
It shows that it is 1.93 GB in the finder on my MacPro2013, but it will not open.
Is there a software that anyone knows about that can open this file?

You can try with Panasonic’s AVCCAM SD Recovery software. Pretty sure if’s free.
I’d be VERY wary of commercial recovery software. Lots of it is “ransomware” that will show you supposedly recoverable files, but only let you recover them (sometimes) after you pony up $100 or more.
Older H4n’s get a bit unreliable later in life in my experience. I think I’m replacing mine soon.

I did try that Panasonic, but it didn’t recognize the card. I am working around by using the stage mic file from the second show. Same musical numbers…only the hard toe ballet gets trick when their feet hit the floor a bit off time. But, that’s all I have to work with.Trig Simon
