  • cannot relink files in FCPx

I’m working on a project that is completed. Before we export, it was decided some of the shots needed to be replaced with new color corrected shots.

I have the new files, but these files no not have audio. When I try to relink them into the project, I receive an error message saying the files are incompatible due to the fact that the original files had audio, and the new ones do not.

    Thoughts?

One of the frustrations of FCPX. If one bit of metadata changes, FCPX considers it a new file. You can’t reconnect like in Legacy. I don’t know if anyone has a workaround, but I’d import the new files and Replace the old with the new (Replace from Start).
