The m2v file works fine in cs3. Cs4 stops loading the m2v file when it reaches 80 percent. When I run the task manager to shut down encore after it freezes up my whole computer freezes and I have to reboot. This is the 1st time windows 7 RC has frozen. Any help would be great. Thanks…….Jeff

How long is the video in the .m2v file? How long did you wait before you decided En was frozen? Does it do the same thing in Vista or XP?

The file is 615 mbs. I went away from the computer for 10 minutes and no change. I didn’t have this problem in XP. I never had vista. I’ll try this file in xp then repost.

I tried the same file in XP and it works fine. I tried it again in windows 7 RC and it stopped at 80 percent. After 5 minutes I tried closing the program and it would not shut down. Brought up the task manager and when I clicked on it the computer froze. I could bring it in as a quicktime or avi file.

Seeing as how Windows 7 RC is beta code, and not even the same as the RTM version, and seeing as how CS4 isn’t supported on Windows 7, and seeing as how it works in XP, then I would have to flag Windows 7 as the underlying problem.

I think that may be the case. I have xp as the backup system on another drive so I’ll use that until full release of windows 7 in Oct…..Thanks for your reply..Jeff

    Hello, i’m facing similar problem.

    Encore CS4
    Windows 7 Final (build 7600)
    Asus P5Q
    Intel Q6600
    2GB DDR2
    ATI Radeon HD4850

When importing a MPEG-2 file as timeline, it freezes everything at the point the music seems to be ralentized (but stil playing, slowly) and cant move the mouse or open the task manager.

The video is 1 hour and 10 mins long and weighs 4GB. I didnt tried many thing because is very frustrating to hard reset the machine every time it freezes.

Has anyone else tried to do thi with Windows 7? Or its a solved problem on W7 and im facing another problem?

I have CS4 Encore and cannot import an m2v file. It gets to 80% and the whole System hangs. I have tried to close it down using the task Manager but to no avail as even the mouse has frozen.
I have windows 7 Professional 64 bit and 6 mb memory.
I have created a High definition Blu ray project Mpeg 2 50p
the m2v file and .ac3 are 21.5gb in total.
Is there a fix for the import problem. I would appreciate if anybody
can help me with this problem. I had CS3 and Windows Xp and it wasn`t a problem with the import.

    many thanks in advance.
