    Hello

I know I should be able to figure this out since I have been using premiere pro for several years…but…I created a series of jpgs in Maya for computer animation..I recorded the dialog as a wave and tried to add it to an existing project..premiere will only let me add it to audio track 4 and not the first one…how do I change this? Thank you.

You can only drag an audio clip to an audio track of the same type. Audio clips can’t be added to the master audio track or submix tracks, and they can be placed only on audio tracks of the matching channel type: mono, stereo, or 5.1.

What Todd said, but also, you can right-click on the left of tracks where it says “Audio 1, Audio 2, etc” and delete empty tracks to clean up the interface for you
