Cannot Change Text color?
I am using a template from a site in which you can alter text, scale it, change font etc. But I cannot change the color via Hue/Saturation, I want it to turn a metallic kind of color but it will not change, whereas every other effect and footage will.
Any Ideas?

Why would you change text color via Hue/Saturation anyway? Why not just change the color of the text?

Select the text layer and hit “UU” to reveal all altered properties, effects, etc. It could have a fill effect or something that is below the hue/saturation in the effects stack.

Interesting but Can’t seem to do anything to it.
Look what happens when I change it’s color, here’s a screen shot.

It looks like it has a color fill animator on. If you turn the twirly next to “text” you should find it. That’s why only the last letter is turning red. If you adjust the offset properties of the text animator it should fix it.

If I understand your last post correctly, it sounds like that’s an error message that you’re getting … can’t tell because the color picker is covering the area where an expression may be shown, but especially since you mentioned this is a template you bought, it sounds like you have an expression that got screwed up somehow … did you change the name of a layer it refers to or something? If so, change it back.

Ok, somehow I’ve managed to change text color etc on it, so that’s good.
But When i add a color curve effect, the whole background and composition is effected?

Ok that’s not even a problem anymore, I’m back to sqaure 1, accept I’ve made my text gray now.. can’t add any effects again etc

Apply “Tint” from effects and presets
Then from Map choose your color as tint and adjust ad desired
