For some unknown reason (what else is new?) I cannot capture video in PP 5.0.3. Error message in capture window “Can’t Activate Recorder. Try Resetting the Camera.”

I restarted the computer, restarted PP and even tried re-inserting the iEEE cable (iEEE 800)several times with no success.

    Any solutions? -KS

    Hi Kenn,

More info needed to suggest a solution.

    PC or Mac?

Did capture used to work, and suddenly quit, or is this the first attempt?

    What camera?

    DV or HDV?

Is DV control enabled in capture settings?

If this is an HDV camera, there will be a menu setting for “VCR” with options of AUTO, DV, or HDV. Specifically choose DV or HDV according to your needs, AUTO can cause issues.

Never switch cable when camera is powered, could blow out the DV port.

Had to reset camera (Sony FX1000) menus to current date, time, etc., then I was able to capture tape. -KS
