Cannot capture HDV footage
I am on OS 10.4.6, running FCP 5.0.4, on a Kona 2. System is a dual g5 with 2GB RAM. Previously I could capture HDV footage using Apple’s HDV 1080 60i codec, and it worked perfectly, using the Kona 2 version 1.2.2 driver. After upgrading to the Kona 2 version 2.0 driver, I can’t capture. I get an error message telling me that it can’t find the HDV deck, and I should check my presets and capture control to correct this issue. What am I to do? I have footage on HDV that I need to get into my timeline, and I can’t seem to find a work around. I have tried the new AJA Kona 2 HDV codecs, and I get the same result : it can’t find the external deck via the firewire cable. I am using the same firewire cable that I always have been using, and I don’t have a spare to check if it is indeed a cable issue. I also have confirmed that the firewire port I am using is good with another device, just not a deck in FCP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try a free load in…without deck control?
