June 12, 2008 at 10:32 pmInside the MAXON folder on your HD, navigate to the Exchange Plugins folder. Inside there is an After Effects folder. Inside the After Effects folder, there are folders that will say mac 5.0, pc 5.0, etc.
Choose the one most appropriate to your OS and AE version. I think 6.5 is the highest so if you’re running 6.5 or above choose that one. Inside that folder is a plugin (you may have to unzip it). Copy that plugin to your After Effects plugin folder. Now you should be able to import the .aec files directly into AE.

February 5, 2009 at 4:48 pmThanks Bill. I followed Bill Kelly’s steps (2nd thread in this post) and I’m now able to import C4D project into AE.
I’m using AE CS4, but the CS3 plugin works fine. -

March 30, 2009 at 12:26 amArrrgh. Ok. I’ve followed the instructions and copied the “cinema4DAE” into my AE plugins folder. Infact, I wasn’t sure which subfolder to put it in so i put it in EACH subfolder plus the plug-ins root. I’ve rebooted, restarted, and it still doesn’t seem to want to accept my AEC file. Any help?
