Do you have the ability to select the event in and then choose FILE > Export Event XM?. I will be able to import that XML

I can’t remember if that was in 10.0.8

Hey, Rob. Thanks for posting the Event, and thanks, Matt, for suggesting it.

I was able to update it to 10.1 and the angles show up perfectly.

I think that this problem is localized to you machine. I would make a new user and see if the problem persists. When you updated to Mavericks, was it a clean install?

How did you update the event? FCP here won’t allow me.

It’s a bit of a trick.

If you have the Event on an external drive, make a folder called “Final Cut Events” on root level of the external drive.

If using your boot drive, put the “Final Cut Events” folder in your user > movies folder.

If you already have a final cut events folder in any of those locations, temporarily move any other folders out of it to prevent unnecessary updating to libraries.

Inside the final cut events folder make a new folder and name it whatever. I named it RobDavis.

In the ‘RobDavis’ folder, put the unzipped downloaded Event and rename it to “CurrentVersion.fcpevent”.

In fcp, choose File > Update Projects and Events.

And then choose the external drive under “locate” or choose update all if the event is on your boot drive.

The Event should update.

Bingo! I opened the project under a differnt user account and it opened right up in 4-angle mode. I never would have thought to try that. Thanks so much to everyone!

I was just about to update to Mavericks but I’m currently putting the finishing touches on a feature documtary in FCP7 and I don’t want to risk having to deal with problems after updating. I don’t know what I’d do without the cow!

Thanks for that. I had done everything except make the sub folder under the Final Cut Events folder. How quickly one forgets the way it used to work.
